Tarah + Alex Romantic Boho Hidden Meadow Wedding | Pepin, WI

Real Weddings

Tarah and I met through The Rising Tide Society 2 years ago. We quickly bonded over business ownership, wine, and The Bachelor. She is one of the sweetest and most genuine souls and I am so lucky to call her my friend. I have only known Tarah for a fraction of her time spent with Alex but seeing her excitement over starting the new chapter (i.e. no more LONG DISTANCE) was so sweet. I knew this Alex fella must be one heck of a guy for her to be so darn excited about him, turns out he is and they are perfect for each other. A couple of goofballs with giant hearts. Solid match.

If you can’t already tell, Tarah’s style is on. freakin’. point. She is a photographer of love stories and adventurers (sometimes both at the same time) over at Tarah Elise Photography and also had a beauty and lifestyle blog called Bloom and Wander (follow her on insta– she’s hilarious and gives great tips).

Naturally this means every element of the day was gorgeous.

These two love birds were married in the most dreamy setting in rural Wisconsin. The leaves on my drive to the venue literally brought tears to my eyes, fall is my favorite and when the colors are just perfect on my bride’s wedding days, it just makes my heart so happy. It’s such a magical time of year. Hidden Meadow is nestled in the bluffs along the Mississippi River in Pepin, Wisconsin which is about a 45 minute drive from Red Wing, Minnesota.

Although the day started out sunny, a chilly rain began to fall in the morning although the bride and groom were cozy in the quaint separate getting ready spaces at the venue, making their final preparations for getting their first glimpse of one another.

Tarah was a vision in her gown from a&bé. The two piece style gave it the perfect boho vibe even though it had a full tiered skirt! Loose flowing curls by 139 Hair by Heidi made Tarah’s long gorgeous hair look wedding ready (which stayed PERFECTLY all. day. even. in. the. rain.) and topped with a gorgeous floral crown by Emily Rose Flower Crowns this beauty was ready to see her man!

Tarah had shown me some inspiration pics of the bouquets she wanted and I did my best to make her vision a reality, overflowing eucalyptus, giant Juliet garden roses, black magic roses, scabiosa, and lush ferns made for a striking contrast to the soft colors of the bridesmaids mix and match gowns.

The wooden farmhouse tables at the venue were strewn with loads of fern, eucalyptus, ruscus, that I arranged into loose garlands and tucked in gold and concrete candle holders Tarah accumulated during the planning of her wedding. Gold flatware from Aprés rounded out the simple but stunning table decor.

Rain was falling steadily outside so the decision was made to hold the ceremony indoors in front of the beautiful fireplace.

Tarah and her man said their I do’s in a touching and intimate ceremony in front of their closest family and friends.

I got to catch up with Tarah’s amazing photographer Kate Becker Photography whom I had “worked” with before, when my business was still just a “if I could do anything I would….” type of situation and she was still Kate Harvey. It really made the sense of joy even greater. To see how far we had both come in just a few short years.

I am so grateful have to been able to be in the presence of these two incredible humans on this very special day. Even if I had to pin the bride’s veil in in the men’s bathroom because of the rain…I have a feeling Tarah and I will giggle about that for years to come…and even if I was throughly water logged, witnessing the love and making sure these special days go perfectly is the greatest honor of my life.

Thank you Alex and Tarah for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. AND thanks for the dounts…..

XOXO, Amber.

Amber, your bouquets and table decor were truly amazing! Thank you for everything you did to make the day so special for all of us. You were a warrior. And thanks again for fixing my cake topper when the airplane ‘crashed!’ -Heidi Schoof (Tarah’s mom)
