The universe is a really big place. Sometimes, the love of your life is standing right in front of you, and you don’t even realize it. Ashton and Tom had been in each other’s orbit for a while (Ashton’s sister is married to Tom’s brother-adorable right?!) but the stars never quite aligned, until all of a sudden those little sparkles aligned, sparks flew and the rest is a love story that was written in the stars.
Ashton and Tom were married on a perfect day in August at the Courtyard by Marriott in Mankato and I was there to help get everyone down the aisle, give them a beautiful space to celebrate in, and provide the flowers!
While Ashton got ready with her girls up in the suite at Courtyard by Marriott, Meaningful Moments was busy getting every detail right for the wedding day. THIS is why I feel it is so important for bride’s to have a wonderful team of vendors working for them, giggles with bridesmaids, mimosa in hand, and not a care in the world.
I made the pergola in the courtyard the focal point of the gorgeous courtyard with white draping and bunches of eucalyptus, simple and elegant.
Ashton wanted a simple, elegant wedding with modern touches like eucalyptus and pillar candles. A girl after my own heart!
The bridesmaids wore gorgeous gowns from The Silhouette in Easton and I used the gold color of the girl’s dresses to dress up the tables in the reception space.
Tom’s groomsmen wore suits in a gorgeous cobalt shade from The Silhouette and we tied the blue color in through the anemones in the floral bouquets. A favorite from this past summer for sure! I love the contrast of the white blooms, deep blue centers of the anemones, and textures in the greens.
Twinkle lights glittered from behind the head table, and provided the perfect backdrop for pictures. These gorgeous photos from PS I Do Wedding Photography are great examples of why I will always love twinkle lights, they looks so dreamy and romantic in photos and give the perfect atmosphere for the wedding reception.
I kept the florals simple and emphasized texture and the simple color palette. The hand tied bouquets featured ferns and eucalyptus in shades of green, white roses, lisianthus (another fave of mine!), anemonies, and astilbe. One of my favorite details is the heirloom broach affixed to the bride’s bouquet, a beautiful tribute to a loved one.
One of my favorite touches was the mini bouquets for the flower girls and a tiny boutonnière for the ring bearer! TOO PRECIOUS!

AND CAN WE PAUSE FOR A MOMENT- IS THIS GOWN NOT THE MOST GORGEOUS THING YOU’VE EVER SEEN?! ASHTON WAS SERIOUSLY STUNNING!
This wedding was a perfect example of how beautiful things can be when you keep the color palette simple and use textures and tons of candlelight to bring the space to life. This wedding was one of my favorites from the 2017 season and was even featured in the new issue of Southern Minnesota Weddings Magazine!
Honored to have been a part of this very special day. Thank you Ashton and Tom for trusting me to get your wedding to go off without a hitch and to make your space beautiful!
XOXO, Amber
