Oh hey Friends! If you know me, you know I am a firm believer in CELEBRATIONS! It doesn’t matter how larger or how small, I love an excuse to do something fun or special. Well, today is a very special day. It is NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY!
National Margarita Day is observed annually on February 22nd! Although no one is EXACTLY sure who invented the margarita, but it is likely that it was invented around 1938 for one of the Ziegfeld dancers who was allergic to many other spirits but was able to tolerate tequila! Regardless of who or where or when, I find it safe to say that Margaritas are probably one of the most popular beverages consumed in America! I find them so refreshing in every reincarnation- skinny margs, frozen margs, peach margs, virgin margs, the list goes on! But one of my favorite versions is a recipe my dad makes! So I figured I would pass this version on to all of you!
I typically refer to these as beergaritas- although upon further review maybe I should start referring to them as redneckritas. I’m still undecided. Anywho…I don’t spend a ton of money on alcohol when it’s going into a cocktail, although don’t get me wrong- Patron is definitely on the top of my list, for these little babies, cheap and dirty does the trick. Busch Light…yes…Busch Light..is the star of the show, bringing a little fizz and cutting down on the tang of the limeaid (Great Vaule brand…that’s right…big spender right here!) So all you need to make these delicious drinks is: Tequila, Triple Sec, 1 can of light beer, 1 can frozen limeade concentrate, and of course, ice, salt for your rim if you’re that kind of gal (and I am that kind of gal), a pitcher, a spoon for stirring, and a glass for serving.
Alright so now that we have the A Team assembled (or B squad- depending on how fussy you are about your booze)…
Dump the frozen Limeade concentrate in your pitcher
Fill the Limeaide can 3/4 full with Triple Sec…dump in pitcher
Fill the Limeaide can 1/2 full with Tequila…dump in pitcher
Open your can of chosen light beer…dump in pitcher
STIR THAT BABY UP!
(Flat lay image of Busch Light included because it’s funny to me…..)
Salt your rim!
Pour your drink!
AND ENJOY!!!
Take a minute to celebrate and enjoy the silly little things in life!
Cheers!
XOXO, Amber
