Ok…I know this is two weeks late, but I’ve been out of the office and so even though it’s late I still think it’s important.
They say you should never look back, but I think sometimes it is necessary, to learn and to set our sights on the year ahead.
2017 was another year of growth for Meaningful Moments, although I reduced the number of clients I took on and put a cap on the total number of weddings I would take on (which I went over), it was a seriously successful year. Being more particular about the clients I take has been the best change in 2017. I have been able to develop deeper connections with my brides, and count them as a flock of new friends. It has been so refreshing and a much needed change. I’m embracing ME and learning that my clients do as well, champagne, crappy reality TV, sparkle everything, goldendoodle snuggles, and all.
In January of 2017 I launched my new refreshed brand and website and also gave the logo a refresh later in the year. I am finally feeling like this piece looks exactly like it should, however I am working behind the scenes on a new website- on a different platform with a better blog layout! WOOHOO! I love my current site but I want a better blog layout- with thumbnails and small previews for easier searching and reading and my current platform just doesn’t have a work around for this.
We took part in 4 styled shoots, one of which was the inspiration images for my brand, one that was published both nationally and internationally, and one that is going to be gracing the pages of the new issue of Southern Minnesota Weddings magazine. I love styled shoots for the collaboration aspect that they bring. Whether it’s helping a photographer with their vision, a venue gain exposure, or just for fun, I love helping other people flex their creative muscles.
Most importantly this year I served 45 couples.
45 forevers began and I got to be a part of it. I was trusted with the details and the dreams.
I got to witness friends pledge forever to their loves…and be there to help every moment go perfectly.
I got to help my westie (her nickname for me…wedding+bestie) get the wedding of her dreams and we even got their favorite band to play their wedding…(full blog post to come soon- it was AH-MAZING).
I got to use new colors, luxe linens, tons and tons of fresh florals, and I had so much fun doing it.
I had a mix of glam, rustic, classic looks and every single one was unique and so special!
I will never be able to adequately describe to you the feeling of having a bride seek you out, when you come back in the middle of the night to start the breakdown, to tell you how much she loved everything. It makes the sleepless nights, and endless hours of hard work so very worth it.
It’s a dream. I am already hard at work in 2018.
Working on the new office design (coming very soon-just a couple weeks!), rolling out a makeup and skincare line PERFECT for my brides which will be sold in the office, the new website is just a few cups of coffee away from launching, and there are loads of beautiful 2018 and even 2019 weddings in the works.
It still amazes me that this is my life.
Thankful. Grateful. Blessed.
Cheers!
XOXO, Amber
