When you meet with a bride and she says…I love three things: My fiance, trees, and winter. OK! I can work with that! Stefanie and Aaron got married on an unseasonably warm January day in 2016. I know, the bride that LITERALLY LOVES being cold and playing in the snow and it’s 36 degrees on her wedding day! Of course that’s how it would happen right?! But thankfully we had a lot of snow prior to the warm up and she still got those snowy photos she’d always dreamed of!

This couple held their reception at Turner Hall in New Ulm, which is such a cozy venue in the winter! I have become obsessed with this venue. I love the history of the building- did you know it houses Minnesota’s oldest bar?!  The building is so well taken care of, and the fact that the building smells of rich cedar wood just adds to it’s charm!

So when I am designing weddings….I sometimes get crazy ideas…like HEY let’s use real trees for your backdrop…or HEY lets use real evergreen boughs on your tables….and while lugging those trees around was no joke…It turned out beautifully and was PERFECT for this couple! I used lanterns, logs, birch, and mercury glass (some with tree silhouettes) to add to the wintry forest feel of this cozy wedding! I also LOVED the log the mother of the bride gifted the couple- it has their initial and names burned into it! How COOL?! Champagne crushed taffetta runners from ByDesign were perfect with the black table linens! Check out the decor we did below:
